Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley, originally Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin was born in August 1797. Mary was born into a family of thinkers and scholars. Her father was the political philosopher William Godwin, while her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, was a philosopher and activist. Her other novels include the Last Man (1826) and Lodore (1835). She was also an ardent traveler and has written several travel novels, one of which is Rambles in Germany and Italy (1844)
