Praise for books by Sathya Saran:

“I strongly recommend that you go for this book and relish the journey of SDB. A testimony to the quality of the content is that this book was shortlisted for the National Award.” – Amazon Reader

“Its a well researched, beautifully written biography. Could hear his music through!! Its like an intricately woven carpet!” – Amazon Reader

“Sathya has shared anecdotes during the making of this evergreen film, some of them shared by Gulzar. Just like the film that has bridged the gap between literature and mass cinema, through adaptations, Sathya delves into the making of the film, of the seven main characters that Gulzar had to delve upon with simple visual hints to separate their identities for the audience to identify with, of the R D Burman, Asha Bhonsale and Gulzar trio that recreated magic when they performed together and of her interactions with Deb Sen, an assistant of Bimal Roy who worked closely with Gulzar in an earlier remake in the mid 60s. It makes a enjoyable read, particularly for those of us who grew up watching the film ‘Angoor.’” – Amazon Reader

“Sathya Saran has illustrated her life beautifully, and once into the first chapter, you would feel like you knew her well enough.” – Amazon Reader
