VAMNICOM

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) was conceived as an intellectual nerve centre for the cooperative movement. VAMNICOM is a national institute under the aegis of the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT) and promoted by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. The institute is responsible for organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating the arrangements for cooperative training of the personnel working in the cooperative sector in the country. Established in 1946 in Bombay as a cooperative training college, VAMNICOM shifted to Pune in 1967 with the mandate of cooperative education, training and research, and consultancy. Named after Vaikunth Lal Mehta, who was the doyen of cooperatives, the institute has been delivering committed services to the cooperative sector of the country for over 56 years. Through education and training, the institute has spearheaded a managerial revolution in the cooperative enterprise by setting a high standard of management competence for the various sectors of the agri-business and cooperative system.
