On World Book Day, Chaayos, India’s largest and most loved chai-café chain partnered with HarperCollins Publishers India to create a paradise for book and chai lovers in the country. Both companies kickstarted initiatives and activities to reward and encourage chai-sipping-page-turning bookworms.
HarperCollins is one of the world’s leading publishers with an extensive list of titles from across the world. Their Indian authors include Amitav Ghosh, Jhumpa Lahiri, Nikita Singh, Raghuram Rajan, Anuja Chauhan, Aravind Adiga, while their international list includes Agatha Christie, Paulo Coelho, Cecilia Ahern, George R.R. Martin, Satya Nadella and Mark Manson to name just a few.
The association commenced on World Book Day with a trivia-based contest on social media and will be followed by a series of sessions with renowned authors and editors at Chaayos Cafés in various cities.
Raghav Verma, co-founder Chaayos, said: Books and chai are the perfect combination and there couldn’t have been a better partner for the association than HarperCollins. Chaayos understands its patron’s love for books and has also designed multiple cafés in Delhi and Mumbai based on the theme of tea, rain and good books. It’s our constant endeavor to create a deeper connect with our patrons by giving them more occasions to be at Chaayos. This partnership will create a one-stop destination for all chai and book lovers to come have their ‘Meri Wali Chai’.
Akriti Tyagi, Head-Marketing, HarperCollins India, said: Chaayos is a steadily growing brand and is looking at new, inventive ways to cater to its customers and we are very excited to be associating with them. HarperCollins is India’s only education to entertainment publisher, with a keen eye for detail and quality, and it is with this goal in mind that we are expanding our readership base through this exciting partnership.
This is just the beginning of an innovative partnership of books and chai. The collaboration between these two companies will keep bringing lots of surprises for chai-loving bibliophiles in the coming days.
