Hemali Sodhi, Editor, says, “Of the many different relationships and loves we experience, the bonds we have with our canine companions are perhaps the purest. The Book of Dog celebrates and pays tribute to the innumerable ways in which these amazing beings enrich our lives. It takes a village – and I’m deeply indebted to the wonderful contributors who have so generously invited us into their world by sharing with us the most personal and heartfelt stories of their beloved dogs. They have made this anthology incredibly special, full of unexpected moments as well as familiar delights – much like the extraordinary experience of sharing your life with a dog.”
Udayan Mitra, Executive Publisher, HarperCollins India, says, “Somehow, when I think back to a fun, happy moment – from yesterday or from long ago – that brings a smile to my lips, it almost invariably seems to involve a dog. That’s one of the things that is special about dogs – they make the time spent with them so memorable. The Book of Dog is full of many such precious moments and memories – real-life incidents recounted in their inimitable way by some wonderful writers who are also dog-lovers. It’s a book that’s a real joy to read – whether you choose to dip into it at random or read it from cover to cover. We at HarperCollins are delighted to bring this very special book to our readers; I can’t wait for you to meet all the fabulous dogs that appear in these pages – perhaps as you sit in the winter sun, with your own furry friend snoozing by your side.”
