About the Book
There are the Tatas, the Birlas, the Ambanis. And then there are the Soods…
She may be in her forties, but things are really looking up for Minty Sood. A single mother of a twenty-two-year-old boy, she is the toast of Delhi’s social circles, has been at the receiving end of a series of very eligible proposals, and has even zeroed in on ‘the One’. Puneet Bhalla is suave, wealthy, and wants to marry Minty. So, of course she accepts! … Twenty-four hours before her son proposes to his girlfriend! Now Minty has to switch gears from bride-to-be to mother-in-law-to-be, which is awkward enough to begin with, but there’s also the intimidating mother of his son’s fiancee, a secret love affair and a crazy best friend to deal with. From the bestselling author of Koi Good News? comes a rib-tickling new novel about family, friends and not one but two big fat Indian weddings.

‘I’m so happy to be publishing with HarperCollins again. This book, like Koi Good News, will make you smile, laugh and just feel good – a much needed respite in times like these. My Best Friend’s Son’s Wedding is a romantic comedy told from the point of view of a crazy best friend who adds spice, warmth and hilarity to a twisted double wedding situation.
I’m also really pleased that there will soon be a web series inspired by the book. Can’t wait to watch it!’
– Zarreen Khan
‘With every book, Zarreen establishes herself more firmly as one of the funniest writers we’ve got today – the ease with which she paints her characters and plots her stories is wonderful to witness – every stroke is sharp and detailed and so very, very funny. In My Best Friend’s Wedding, she invites you into this glossy, glamourous world of Delhi’s elite, and then proceeds to peel off the layers, one by one, so that what you’re left with is just the raw, altogether too human face of it – complete with the follies and the foibles.’
– Swati Daftuar, Commissioning Editor
‘It’s not easy to do funny. Zarreen makes it seem effortless. We are delighted to be publishing her again—My Best Friend’s Son’s Wedding is a riot. Just the sort of feel-good that one needs right now.’
– Diya Kar, Publisher
