About the Designer:

Shamika Chaves is a children’s book illustrator, author and graphic designer who is based in Mumbai, India. She has illustrated around twenty children’s books, including those of authors like Ruskin Bond. She was also nominated for Publishing Next’s coveted ‘Illustrator of the Year 2021’ award. Currently, she lives and works in a cosy little home with her husband, Christopher, and their nine-year-old tortoise, Sebastian.

About the Illustrator:

Sandhya Prabhat is an animator and illustrator based in the Bay Area, California, and is from Chennai, India. She holds an MFA degree in Animation and Digital Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, and a bachelor’s degree in literature from Stella Maris College. She has illustrated diverse books like A Saree for Ammi, Today I Am, I Am Brown and The Gopi Diaries.
