Most Loved Amar Chitra Katha Stories as Chapter Books

Talking about the latest set of books in this collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, Tina Narang, Publisher – HarperCollins Children’s Books says, ‘It give us immense pleasure to announce the launch of the third boxset in the Amar Chitra Katha chapter book series — Most Loved Amar Chitra Katha Stories. We are delighted that each new boxset not only strengthens our relationship with Amar Chitra Katha, one of the most cherished brands in India, but also validates the chapter book format which is the defining feature of this series.’

Preeti Vyas, CEO and President, Amar Chitra Katha says, ‘It gives us immense pleasure to take the next step in our partnership with Harper Collins with another three books being added to the list. This co-publishing project is very exciting as we continuously diversify the ways children can read our stories. While we continue to publish new comic books at a fervent pace at Amar Chitra Katha, these early chapter, (non-comic) books in collaboration with Harper Collins allow us to reach a younger audience, which is not ready for comic books yet, through simple narrative text.

The first 6 books in the series have been wonderfully received by readers, both in India and abroad and I confident that these 3 new additions will also be enthusiastically received; they are after all stories full of wit and humour, one of our most popular genres.’

Author Nalini Sorensen adds, ‘It was such an honour to work as the Consulting Editor on this series. I was drawn into the stories that I read myself as a child, and got to look at them through contemporary eyes. It made me see how stories written decades ago still appeal to today’s child, with adaptations. What also astounded me was the versatility of these stories; they work just as beautifully in two vastly different formats–comic and early chapter book. Eventually, a good story is a good story in any format.’
