The Gita and You: Know the Bhagwad Gita through these eight stories.

The 8 kathas included in The Gita & You aim to teach the kids valuable lessons on concepts such as selfless love, faith, truth, karma, leadership, trust, anxiety and time management. These stories use simple examples and day-to-day situations to convey the core message of the Bhagavad Gita.

1. The Brave Little Wave tells us that even in the worst of times, if you have trust and encounter the unknown with an open mind, you will emerge stronger and better.

2. The Lonely Uncle Next Door compels us to analyze our motivation while doing something for others. Is the other person’s happiness a priority for us? Or are we doing this out of our own selfish desire?

3. The Great Banyan That Stood Tall drives home the message that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The kind tree teaches us that karma is a great leveller.

4. The story of an Elephant Through the Eye of a Needle talks about faith. Through the wisdom of a cobbler, it teaches us that faith is a belief that makes everything possible.

5. The Man Who Worried All the Time highlights the fact that whatever is going to happen, will happen, whether we worry or not. It tells us how worry sneaks up on us like a thief and empties our present of all the strength we possess.

6. The story of the Man Who Always Spoke the Truth teaches us that truth is very important but we are sometimes allowed to tell lies for the good of humanity.

7. The story of the Boy Who Had a Sweet Tooth throws light on the real meaning of leadership. Even if it’s difficult, a leader must follow the righteous path to encourage others to follow.

8. The Ship and the Storm asks us to value time. It tells us that respecting and valuing our time is the foremost step towards effective time management.
