Shweta Bachchan-Nanda

Shweta Bachchan Nanda (born March 17, 1974), an Indian writer, columnist, and former model, has made notable contributions to publications such as Daily News and Analysis and Vogue India. She gained recognition as the author of the widely acclaimed novel “Paradise Towers.” Additionally, she ventured into the fashion industry with the launch of her own label, MXS, in 2018.

Shweta, born to Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, exchanged vows with Nikhil Nanda, a prominent figure in the Escorts Group, on February 16, 1997. Nikhil Nanda is the offspring of Ritu Nanda, daughter of renowned Hindi film actor-producer Raj Kapoor, and Rajan Nanda. The couple shares two children: Navya Naveli Nanda (born December 1997) and Agastya Nanda (born November 2000). Shweta pursued her education at Boston University.

Shweta Bachchan-Nanda’s quirky, intimate debut explores the intertwined lives in this building – a forbidden romance, an elopement, the undercurrents of tension in corridor interactions and an explosive Diwali celebration. Bachchan-Nanda’s is a dazzling voice that will draw you into the intoxicating, crazy world that is Paradise Towers.

Praise for books by Shweta Bachchan-Nanda:

“Observant, moving, hilarious and exceptionally astute… Paradise Towers is no slice of life…it’s an entire loaf. Shweta “builds” her debut novel with the ease of a literary veteran. Go find your Paradise between these pages!” – Karan Johar, renonwned filmmaker.

“Thoughtful, incisive and nuanced – just like the author.” – Priyanka Khanna, Editor, Vogue.

“An easy read , this book is a fun way to spend a free evening. The characters are lively and the incidents are engrossing. The language is simple and occasionally incorrect which is irritating. Being a Mumbaikar I perhaps found the book more entertaining than someone who doesn’t relate to life here.” – Amazon Reader
