Jugal Hansraj Jewel of Nisawa

Jewel of Nisawa sequel to The Coward and The Sword by Jugal Hansraj

nisha.singh@harpercollins.co.in | 22 January 2024

Talking about The Jewel of Nisawa author Jugal Hansraj says, ‘Does true value lie in our perception of material things? Or is it found within the people around us? Join young prince Kadis in his journey of discovery as he finds the answer to this age old question in The Jewel of Nisawa, the sequel to The Coward and The Sword.’

Tina Narang, Publisher – HarperCollins Children’s Books adds, ‘Jugal Hansraj has done it again – taken us right into the kingdom of Kofu and straight to the life of the endearing Prince Kadis, with another brilliantly written story, The Jewel of Nisawa. We see a different Kadis, a braver, more confident Prince but his deep sense of duty and responsibility remain as compelling as before. Kadis journeys into a forgotten kingdom and encounters unsurmountable obstacles in his quest for the priceless jewel. If The Coward and The Sword, had you enthralled, The Jewel of Nisawa, will keep you on the edge of your seat.’

About the book

When a stranger tells Kadis to retrieve the Jewel of Nisawa, little does the young prince know that his life is about to change. On the brink of eighteen, Kadis seems to have everything: the love and support of his parents and friends, and the adoration of the citizens of Kofu. But he’s plagued by a recurring nightmare and an eerie feeling that he’s being followed. When his granduncle, the wise Shonin, goes missing, a mysterious note from him propels Kadis and his friends into a whirlwind journey to a fabled kingdom. On this adventure, the prince faces challenges far greater than ever before.

How is Kadis’s destiny connected to that of a forgotten kingdom? Will Sara, Shijo, Myo, Tara and Mr Joi be able to protect their friend from danger? And will Kadis be able to find his courage when he truly needs it?

The Jewel of Nisawa the sequel to the acclaimed The Coward & The Sword promises action, magic, romance and, of course, an irrepressible falcon.
