Fiona Fernandez
Fiona Fernandez is a historian at heart with a time-traveller’s soul. As Associate Editor at Mid-day and through her outspoken protagonists Sir PM and Lady Flora, in her weekly column Bombaynama, Fiona highlights Mumbai’s multi-layered urban histories, the conservation of its UNESCO World Heritage Sites and its citizen champions. H for Heritage: Mumbai is her third book, the result of years of wandering through the city’s known and forgotten precincts. Fiona has also written Bombay Meri Jaan and Ten Heritage Walks of Mumbai. She was co-researcher for The Mumbai Factfile and has contributed to Urban Voice 3 and The Book of Dog“
Sumedha Sah
About the Illustrator
Born in Nainital, Sumedha Sah is an architect with a specialization in sustainable architecture, and a self-taught illustrator. She has a keen interest in the ever-evolving man–nature relationship. Her art and illustrations have appeared in several publications in India and abroad. As an architect, she co-designed the Railway Museum in Mysore, which opened to the public in March 2022. She loves to take leisurely nature walks, cook hearty meals, travel to lesser-known destinations, write long letters and draw in her sketchbooks. She especially enjoys creating books for children. She lives and works out of her studio in Bangalore. This is her tenth book.
